McLean County Update

McLean County advocates have initiated several impressive projects as well. One committee began a Ready, Set, Learn! initiative through which Baby Bags for new or expectant parents are available through local churches or the Family Resource Center. Baby bags include resources and informational materials to encourage parents to prepare their littles one for lifelong learning from day one.

Other advocates in McLean County have collaborated with Owensboro Community College and McLean County High School to offer Architectural Drafting and Intro to Mechatronics Dual Credit courses at McLean County High School. Ninety students are currently enrolled, and 25 MCHS students commute to OCC for college level courses. Encouraging rigor and relevancy, dual credit options will greatly benefit McLean County students.
